大Đại 道Đạo 廢phế, ， 有hữu 仁nhân 義nghĩa. ；
Đại đạo mất mới có nhân nghĩa,

智Trí 慧tuệ 出xuất, ， 有hữu 大đại 偽ngụy. ；
Trí tuệ sinh mới có dối trá lớn.
(Then) appeared wisdom and shrewdness, and there ensued great hypocrisy.

六Lục 親thân 不bất 和hòa, ， 有hữu 孝hiếu 慈từ. ；
Lục thân bất hòa, nên có kẻ thảo người lành.
When harmony no longer prevailed throughout the 6 kinships, filial sons found their manifestation;

國Quốc 家gia 昏hỗn 亂loạn, ， 有hữu 忠trung 臣thần. 。
Quốc gia rối loạn mới có trung thần.
when the states and clans fell into disorder, loyal ministers appeared.
